Berlin, 1988 1988

Here are some more pictures I found from that trip with Ted into Europe, but this time of Berlin. Obviously, it's to be remembered that it's 1988 and there is still a DDR and a wall and a lot of pretty bummed out East Berliners (oops! did I just call them all sausages?) a couple of whom I met and really loved, actually. Ted and I were shown the neighborhood by our then new friend, Sven Goerlich, and I have to say it really was pretty dismal and awful with piles of rubble laying around and bullet holes from God-knows-when still left unrepaired in walls... 

in other words, a little paradise for me and my camera.

Arch of Triumph 1988

Back in March of '88, I went and met Ted Fisher in Paris and he took me around and showed me a bunch of places I'd never seen before. This is one: the famous Arc de Triomphe which, as you can see, is really big.
