"Calling You" is a song from the Bagdad Café movie. Originally, it was recorded by Jevetta Steele. Bob Telson who wrote the song also recorded his version. Both appeared on the movie soundtrack in 1987.

"Hey There" Sung by Kristen Vigard in 1996

"Hey There" is a show tune from the musical play The Pajama Game, written by Richard Adler and Jerry Ross. It was published in 1954. It was introduced by John Raitt in the original production. It was subsequently recorded by a number of artists. The recording by Rosemary Clooney reached #1 on Billboard's chart in 1954. Another version was also recorded about the same time by Sammy Davis, Jr., reaching #16 on Billboard's retail chart. The song (counting all recorded versions) also reached #1 on the Cash Box chart in 1954.

Kristen Vigard (born May 15, 1963) is an American actress and singer. She is known for her two year run as "Morgan Richards" on The Guiding Light.[1] She toured as a backup singer with Fishbone and the Red Hot Chili Peppers in the 1980s and sang the lead vocals for Illeana Douglas for the 1996 film Grace of My Heart, including "God Give Me Strength", which was nominated for Best Original Song at the 1st Golden Satellite Awards.

Title Cards

Here are the title cards for some okay movies you might know. Some of the designs, I think, are pretty stunning, particularly the older ones. It makes me wonder who made them and what that job must be like. I always wished I could design film credits for a living. I think I'd be good at that.

The Happy Ending (tiny excerpt) 2012

Did I ever tell you about the time I met Jean Simmons? It was at The Vagabond Theater that used to be on Wilshire Blvd. near Carondolet in L.A. (of course.) Occasionally they'd have tribute nights there at the poor, fading moviehouse and so I went one night by myself to see a double of Guys and Dolls and Elmer Gantry, I think it was. Little did I realize she was right there on hand doing a little Q&A and then autographs afterwards. Now I was 18 at the time, a krazy art student and very into my punk rock thing so when I approached the concessions counter for my autograph (which, yes, I still have) it was on her face that she was pretty uncomfortable with me. She was very polite, however, and signed quickly. I, for my part, feel certain I expanded her demographic that night and have been a loyal adulant since.

In more recent news, Ms, Simmons finally succumbed to lung cancer on January 22nd, 2010, nine days before her 81st birthday.
So, here she is in a tiny bit of The Happy Ending, saying goodnight and rushing off into the dark.
