Burritt Alley

Just off Bush Street, right up from the piss-stinking stairwell to the Stockton Tunnel and A Summer Place in San Francisco is Burritt Alley, which I used to pass everyday on the way to work. There's this plaque there, quietly specifying the significance of the location.
I love that phrase, "... was done in by..."
